You’re invited to join this 2-day workshop, where you’ll be shown new ways to:

  • Manage energy during stressful times

  • Find ease of movement in any activity

  • Understand and refine the connection between your thought and action

  • Discover more possibilities for yourself in any situation

  • Awaken coordination and creativity

In this experiential workshop, filled with gentle movement games, you’ll gain insights into how you are designed to move, and how your movement supports thinking and expression.

This workshop is perfect for people who:

  • Want to move more easily in daily life

  • Want to show up more fully for creative performances or leadership

  • Are explorers of mind-body connection

You’ll come away with new information that connects the dots between the anatomy of movement and awareness of self applied to the activities you care about most right now.

Some science, some art, a whole lot of humanity.

“I did a series with Crispin and had my first experience with Alexander Technique. The grief and stress of this time has brought me back to that experience because I'm trying to orient toward what is essential in what I do, think, and how I move. I really, really suggest giving it a try...”

- Erin Johnson, Executive Director, Velocity Dance Center

Meet your instructor

On my path to becoming a teacher of Integrative Alexander Technique, I had overlapping careers as a contemporary dance choreographer, creative and corporate event producer, and project manager. I’ve worked for rock stars and multinational corporations.  I’ve gotten up at the crack of dawn to load live charges on a fireworks barge.

I believe that movement heals. In a complex world, Integrative Alexander Technique is a gift to our well-being.

Small changes make a big difference

FAQ

Q: Who is this for?
A: This class is for any adult who wants to find more confidence, ease, and awareness in their everyday life. Beginning and returning students are absolutely welcome.

Q: Is it about posture?
A: Think about posture as a celebration of the kinetic orchestra that is your always-moving body. You can use the Alexander Technique in any position, including sitting or standing in your full height. Stand up curved!

Q: Is this a dance or exercise class?
A: You can use IAT while you do other things and YES it can be applied to questions about dance and exercise and any other thing you want to do. IAT is an integrating process, not a codified set of movements. We use playful experimentation to explore IAT, and then put it right into practice with the activities you care about.

Q: Is this good for mindset?
A: Yes. One of the great benefits of IAT is noticing all the ways that we have choice about how we move, think, and communicate. We look at how you process and get to make choices both internal and external stimuli. That includes noticing how you talk to yourself, and how to do so constructively and with kindness.

Q: Is this the same as the 4-week series?
A: Yes, this is a 2-day version of the 4-week series offered in the past.

Start moving better, start living better.

Whether you are working on a new skill or just want to feel better in your body, this workshop is an opportunity to dive in and make real change.
